Pirate treasure cake was a design that a 9yr old called Yousef designed in detail. This Gorgeous little boy new exactly how he wanted his birthday cake! Yousef searched the web and came to me with all the pictures and what he wanted from each picture
Yousef’s Pirate Treasure Cake Design
1- The cake had an OLD treasure map painted over it. He knew exactly what he wanted, the map has to look old!
2- The cake had a skull wearing a red scarf and and eye patch over it.
3- A small treasure chest on top of the cake.
4- A black pirate flag on top
5- Edible sand on top of the cake and all around it.
6- The cake was surrounded by water and his name in the water.
7- A sword that goes through the cake. For this point I had to explain to him that the sword would be of two parts. Inserting the sword through the cake would cut it in half and ruin it. So he agreed.
Execution Time
It was time to start the cake. It took me two days to make this cake.
Day 1
On this cake I baked the cake, iced it and crumb coated it. I also prepared all my accessories, the skull, chest parts, flag, and sword.
Day 2
On this day I covered my cake with fondant, painted the treasure map and assembled Yousef’s Pirate Treasure Cake.
To make the red color I mixed white with red gel. The same applys with the sky blue. I mixed white with blue Gel paste
